Who Was Riyasatkar?

Coming from a middle-class Brahmin family in Gowil village, Ratnagiri, Govind Sakharam Sardesai completed his schooling locally before pursuing higher education in Pune and Mumbai. In 1889, he began working for the princely state of Baroda, quickly gaining the trust of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. Sardesai was appointed the Maharaja's personal secretary and later became a tutor for the royal princes. G. S. Sardesai was been honored as Docotor of Literature by University of Pune and Padma Bhushan Award from Government of India. Click here to know more.
